I first found Tasting Eden on one of my nightly trawls through the internet, trying to decipher what was just crap and what might hold my interest
for ten minutes or so. When I stumbled across the site, my first thought was that I had somehow gotten onto some graphics site, because the
layout was so breathtaking. This was definitely NOT just crap! As I began to read the wonderful stories and found my way around the site, I
realized that Tasting Eden was the mother to all these other great sites and links, and I was just so impressed that someone had managed to
maintain such a great looking site, as well as writing such powerful stories and helping others so publish theirs. Damn Nikki, you're pretty freakin'
awesome! I think I'll call you "Superwoman" from now on...I would have never thought that I would one day be part of the Tasting Eden Family,
but I feel so grateful that I am. And, really, the only person to thank for that is Nikki. Your generosity has helped so many, you pull off such
moving, original stories (who would have thought Justin could be so ghetto?!) and of course your other achievements, like your singing and
songwriting. Nikki, you're a great person, and you deserve every bit of praise you get!
Marianne:
Nikki, sweet Nikki. I don't even know where to begin. . . You are so incredibly real, so incredibly talented, and so incredibly kind. I know you get
compliments all the time, and everything I'm saying is something you've heard before, but I really mean it. You're an inspiration to me. I admire
your writing skills. I admire the way you manage to run the world of Tasting Eden and I really admire how you can put up with all of us all the
time, lol. You patiently assisted me through building up Timberfiklickable. You might've called me a crackhead once, but other than that, it was all
good, lmao. That reminds me, you're funny as hell too, lol. I know I haven't known you as long as everybody else, but in the time we have known
each other, you've shown me the beautiful woman that you are, both inside and out. And for that, I thank you, I praise you, and I hope that our
friendship can continue to grow. Mad love, dahlin'!

I think the thing I love most about Nikki is this "collect 'em all" attitude she has about her fellow authors. Makes you feel like some really cool
Prada handbag... or a frickin' Pokemon, but I like my Prada analogy better!!I was in dire straits and rapidly running out of space on Geocities
when Nikki offered to host me, thus saving my skin. And I jumped because Tasting Eden hosts some of my favourite writers and to be breathed in
the same sentence was just like WHOA. If I'm honest though, despite the really cool sounding domain name, what makes TE *is* Nikki. She's
incredibly multi talented - writer, graphic designer, webmistress, singer - but she's also an incredible sweetheart. She's so supportive of the
online writing community, she's always trying to advertise others over and above herself, and I know she's practically driven herself nuts over
more than one person's fledgling website. She's always got a nice word to come say on your tagboard, she's also got some new kick ass layout or
project in the works, and she's just always been one of the nicest people I've ever met online.
A dewdrop in the misty morn,
A breath in colour now airborne.
A Taste of paradise, forgotten sin,
A touch of Eden, imagined within.
Linked in words to outburn the candle wick,
Child with wings... a Seraphim named Nik.
Umm... so, yeah, Nikki rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alex:
She's like a sister to me. I love her to death! God bless
Nikki and her writing, it inspired a lot of us fanfic writers to be here,
and keep this going.
Thanks to you Nik!
Sylvia:
I find that the people I don't remember how I actually met them are
the ones that become my closest friends. I don't exactly remember how
I met Nikki but I have to say that was the WORST day of my life! Lol, of course I'm
kidding. I know I can sometimes come off as a tad
bit crazy, out there, and mean but bottom line is I look up to you and admire
you for the beautiful person you are. You've been through
a lot in your young life, had more drama come at you then a lot of us see in a
life time and you've continued to carry yourself in a way
that people
can look at you and say "That girls a real trooper", and actually mean it. Unfortunately
I didn't take part in making this fanlisting,
but you know what?
I'm awesome anyway so who
cares! Oh and by the way, Channing was always mine. *muah*
Kaleena:
The three words that readily come to mind when I think of Nikki are ambitious, passionate, and caring. And truly, these are the words that I would
have used to describe her when I first talked her. From the beginning, she was filled with an insatiable passion, dedication, and drive that showed
in whatever she was doing. I can remember reading her fanfics years ago and thinking, this is the kind of author that cares about what she's
writing about, knows her characters and is just completely involved--totally immersed in what she's doing, and it's completely organic and real. I'm
still amazed at how she could make Camille Henderson (I've only recently convinced myself that she isn't real) into being a living breathing, flesh
and blood superstar. Honestly, it was that dedication to portraying reality, mirroring it, and skewing it slightly but still making it believable, that
encouraged me to be a more shrewd author. By reading her work, I saw the importance of getting to know your characters, making them genuine
and flawed, of being detailed and passionate, and furthermore, of being goal-oriented. From the beginning, I knew Nikki knew what she wanted
and was willing to work damn hard for it, and I was astounded. I truly, truly, truly, have NEVER met anymore more ambitious (and that's saying a
lot) than her. She's always wanted to be involved in so many different areas, working with so many media, and what is amazing to me is the way
she never really compromised any of her endeavors to pursue something else. In my opinion, she always gave 100% to anything she was
doing--even when she was writing 3+ stories at once, doing her own music thing, and ya know, living and breathing, she seemed completely
invested. She's definitely the kind of person that will see things through till the end. I found and continue to find that admirable. Beyond her
fantastic artistic capabilities (of which we all know there are many....have you seen some of her layouts?!), she's an amazing person to talk to.
I've had tons of conversations with Nikki ranging from....funny as hell, to serious bordering on philosophical (at weird hours of the night, weird
stuff happens), to me just being random and Nikki responding in the only way she could--stunned silence and the obligatory "lmao". Still,
throughout all of that, she's been immensely supportive, always willing to offer comfort and advice whether I was frustrated because I had a
headache or because I didn't know how to finish a chapter and I'm so grateful for that. So...with all that said, Nikki, you are a fabulous writer,
friend, person, thank you for being original, funny, smart and sharing your undeniable talent with us!! Tons of mwahs from moi. You definitely
deserve them. ;)
Ashley:
So, what can I say that hasn't already been said? Probably nothing, because it's no secret to the world just how amazing you are. You're the
backbone of TE and that's saying a lot, because to be able hold up such a powerhouse of beautiful, strong women says a lot about the person, the
gorgeous soul resting beneath the surface. I love the way you kind of just appeared in my life one day. I swear, since the day I moved in, my life
hasn't been the same. It really amazes me how far we've come in the short year that we've been family, but it's been such a pleasure to see you
hone your skill as a writer, graphic designer, webmistress and even watching you mature as a person. Lord knows we've had our share of personal
drama, so to see you persevere (as I knew you would) always gives me that little bit of faith that we all need in order to say, "Maybe I can do this,
too." So I guess that makes you my inspiration, huh? Yeah, it does. And now you're gonna take the world by storm in a whole new way by flippin'
the script and singing your way to the top. Girl, I don't know how you do it. Then again, I've been saying that for the past year. So, maybe I have
nothing new to say, but it's all real, mama. I love you and I thank you.
